Welcome to the Physical Therapy Department at the Foot Center of New York.
We are a comprehensive physical therapy department dedicated to providing the best possible care to all of our patients, all of the time. Physical therapy is a unique science and art that utilizes a wide variety of procedures to restore function to the body, reduce pain and help prevent future injury.
Our team of professionals can design a rehabilitation program for a variety of conditions for any area of the body. We will devise an individualized treatment plan to achieve the specific goals of each patient.
These are some of the conditions we treat and services we offer:
Musculoskeletal disorders Proprioception deficits
At the first visit, a patient undergoes an initial evaluation and an individualized treatment program is designed, in conjunction with the physician's prescription, to meet the patient's specific rehabilitative needs. Under the supervision of a therapist, patient goals are established and treatment begins. Various physical therapy modalities may be utilized during treatment, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, ice and heat, paraffin wax, as well as therapeutic exercise and manual therapy.
We also feature Anodyne Therapy, the FDA-approved treatment for the symptoms associated with diabetic neuropathy that uses infrared light to improve local circulation. We use iontophoresis and phonophoresis to deliver medication to local tissue without the use of needles, a painless and proven effective treatment for several tissue disorders.
Our Director of Physical Therapy comes to us with over a decade of experience treating performing artists and elite athletes, working with such companies as the New York City Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, and over a dozen different Broadway productions. We incorporate a hands-on, interactive approach, using appropriate modalities while focusing on education and patient independence.
